This variety sports spikier red flower petals compared to the typical bougainvillea, with rounder petals.Leaves have cream to golden yellow edges, dark gray-green centers, and are tinged with red when new.

They grow in fertile, well drained soil in full light. The plant profusely flower if grown under maximum light and stressed with dryness. Bring the soil to a state of visual dryness between watering. The best flowering occurs when the plants are brought to a slight wilt between waterings
