Kent mangoes are large, oval fruit with dark green skins, sometimes with a dark red blush. They have juicy, tender golden flesh with few fibers, which makes them excellent for juicing.
The Kent mango has good reliable, though not exceptional, eating qualities, and is common in supermarkets dues to its ability to maintain quality when transported by sea.
It is a mid to late season mango and of medium to large in size. It is oval-shaped with mainly a green/yellow background colour and sometimes with a red blush. The peel remains green/yellow, even when ripe and ready to eat. The attractive orange flesh is fibre-free with a slightly rubbery, firm texture and tends to be very sweet, with a mild flavour and good juice content. Flavour is enhanced when the fruit is left on the tree for longer, though this is rarely conducive to sea-freighting the fruit.
